Home Letter 10/8/12

Dear Families,

I hope that this finds you all well! This will be our second and last week of NECAP tests – hooray! Last week my third graders worked so very hard on these tests: everyone really took their time and I think did their very best. They can all be proud of their hard work! Last weeks tests were on reading and writing; this week will focus on math. As such, there will be no homework (other than to get lots of good rest and fresh air and eat plenty of healthy food!).

Speaking of healthy food, this week is the KID'S LOCALVORE CHALLENGE! I hope that your child will decide to participate (it’s optional). There are lots of great reasons to eat local food – plus it can be a fun challenge! I’ll be sending home more information with students who are interested. *There will be local foods available at school (at lunch and snack) so everyone can take part!*

I’m looking forward to another great week together! And as always, if you have any questions or things you’d like to discuss, please let me know. I’ll do my best to get back to you quickly!

Best,

Emily Hartz

p.s. We’re close to our first marble celebration! Ask your child what HE or SHE thinks we should do in honor of our hard work!

REMINDER:
NO SCHOOL Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday of next week (10/17-10/19)!
